Submission on proposed amendments to the poisons' standard - medicinal cannabis - February 2016

This submission by PCA to the Therapeutic Goods Administration comments on the proposed amendments to the Poisons Standard relating to medicinal cannabis. PCA supports the research into medicinal cannabis, and ensuring it is available to people with a life-limiting illness where it is shown to improve symptom management. PCA supports changes to the scheduling of medicinal cannabis to complement the other activities of the Government to make this product available for medicinal purposes, where it is demonstrated to have benefit, while keeping in place appropriate controls.
