I am an Ally

I am an Ally

Our community is often uncomfortable talking about, thinking about, and planning for death and dying – which is natural and easy to understand.

Those of us who work or volunteer in palliative care, or have first hand experience through a loved one can be powerful allies in opening up conversations about this important phase of life.

Our collective effort is vital in raising awareness, increasing access, and recognising the contribution of nurses, doctors, allied health professionals, volunteers and carers.

Anyone can become an ally of palliative care! We have created a range of assets to help get you started within your networks and community.

And if you are receiving palliative care, looking after someone or know someone who is receiving care, we encourage you to share your experience, and start those conversations around death and dying and break down those taboos.

Download the social media tiles and videos below and become an ally of palliative care so that more Australian’s can get the care they deserve.

Thank you to Nicola, Joanne, Juliane, Paresh, Mel, and Sarah for lending their face, voice, and lived experience to this conversation.

Thank you!
