Palliative care champions recognised

Each day across Australia, thousands of individuals and teams are working in palliative care to make a positive difference to the lives of people living with a life-limiting illness.

Palliative Care Australia (PCA) is proud to have recognised some of industry’s best and brightest with the announcement of the winners of the 2019 National Palliative Care Awards at the recent  Oceanic Palliative Care Conference gala dinner in Perth

Five individual and two team awards were presented for outstanding innovation, talent and teamwork in the palliative care sector.

Individual award winners received $2000 to go towards personal professional development whilst organisational / team award winners received $4000 to go towards professional development for their entire team.

PCA CEO Rohan Greenland congratulated all the award winners, highlighting their hard work, dedication and outstanding contribution to palliative care nationally.

“We know that our sector is supported by a highly skilled and motivated workforce, including both paid employees and volunteers,” said Mr Greenland.

“Collectively, they underpin our goal to help all people diagnosed with life-limiting illnesses to live as well as possible, for as long as possible.”

“The National Palliative Care Awards provide an important platform to recognise and celebrate their hard work and achievements and offers an even stronger platform and capability to continue
their careers in palliative care.”

“PCA aims to ensure that everyone accessing palliative care gets the professional support they need, and these awards put us a step closer to achieving that objective.”
