23OPCC recordings available to watch at anytime, anywhere!

Recordings from the biggest palliative care conference ever held in the Southern Hemisphere are now available to watch at anytime, anywhere.
“Over 1400 delegates were fully engaged in the 2023 Oceanic Palliative Care Conference (23OPCC) in Sydney during mid-September, and we know many more people wanted to be there but couldn’t, so we are delighted to launch of the 23OPCC Education Hub and extend the many insights to an even bigger group of people,” says Camilla Rowland, Chief Executive Officer, Palliative Care Australia (PCA).
The three-day program featured over 215 speakers who shared powerful ideas, research, stories, and models of care around the theme of ‘shaping stronger health systems, delivering quality palliative care.’
Many of the sessions are now available as video recordings to conference delegates and the wider community including:
- Prof Samar Aoun – Rethinking Care at End of Life: A needed shift to a compassionate communities collaborative model
- Dr Hsien Seow – Co-design is the future of designing and delivering quality palliative care
- Prof David Currow – The care economy may soon be bankrupt
- A/Prof Michelle DiGiacomo & Paul Wilson – Laughter Care to improve quality of life of people with dementia in residential aged care
- Prof Sue Kurrle – Intergenerational Care
- Dr Malama Tafuna’i – Developing palliative care in the Western Pacific through a partnership approach
Health professionals and volunteers from across Australia and the globe took part, representing a range of experiences including aged care, primary health, oncology, paediatrics, disabilities, specialist palliative care, voluntary assisted dying and many more.
Including practical sessions encompassing pain management, spiritual care, art therapy, grief and bereavement, Advance Care Directives, and more.
Feedback from delegates has been very positive with and average satisfaction score of 4.3 stars out of 5.

Registered 23OPCC delegates can access the recording now, for those who didn’t attend, subscriptions are available for purchase for between $200 and $400.
