Palliative Care Australia (PCA) is the national peak body for palliative care in Australia, representing all those who work towards high-quality palliative care for all Australians. Working closely with consumers, state/territory-based Member Organisations and affiliates, the palliative care and broader health, aged care and disability care workforce, PCA improves access to and promotes the need for, palliative care.
Our office is located on Canberra Avenue in Griffith, ACT.
Director and Treasurer
We are seeking expressions of interest for an enthusiastic finance professional with particular skills and experience in the financial and accounting sectors, and who is passionate about strengthening leadership and governance in the not-for-profit sector. We are looking for this director to join our Board and to in time take on the role of Chair of our Finance, Audit and Risk Management subcommittee of our company, which meets quarterly by teleconference.
As a small team of volunteer highly experienced Directors and with a full-time CEO. PCA has a dedicated staff of eighteen and a committed group of nine volunteer directors of the Board. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to the objectives of a dynamic peak national health organisation, being exposed to new and different issues, working in a collaborative and challenging environment, representing PCA in different fora, and sharing in the achievements of PCA.
Board directors meet at least quarterly (face to face and by teleconference as required). Any travel or accommodation required of Directors in their capacity as a PCA Board Director is paid for by PCA. There is no requirement to be based in the ACT, Directors are located across Australia.
