Representative

Natasha is the CEO of Derek’s Place.

She is a mother to Cristian, who was just four-years-old when her husband Derek, passed away from Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) in August 2019 after a 23-month battle. Derek was one month short of his 36th birthday. Natasha is a Sports Management Professional with 17 years of experience specialising in operations and logistics. Currently Natasha is working at Paralympics Australia preparing for the 2021 Paralympics and the Ryde Gladesville Catholic Parish. She previously worked at 2012 & 2016 Olympic Games as Team Manager for Canoe Slalom Team and at 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Natasha and Derek’s experience of the limited palliative care options available to them was the catalyst for the birth of Derek’s Place. Along with Derek’s sister Rachel, she began the task of raising funds to build a facility to support families like hers, who experience the loss of a parent to terminal illness while their children are still young and to build a lasting legacy for the husband she lost too early.
