The Board of Palliative Care Australia (PCA) has today commenced recruitment of a Chief Executive Officer following the resignation of Chief Executive Officer Rohan Greenland to take up an appointment as Chief Executive Officer of MS Australia on December 14.

“Whilst the last 2 years have seen significant progress towards our goal in making quality palliative care available to all Australians, many challenges remain,” PCA Board Chair Professor Agar said.

Implementation of the National Palliative Care Strategy and the recommendations of the Aged Care Royal Commission will be critical as Australia’s population ages, grows and more people live longer but with greater prevalence of chronic and complex illness.

Mr Greenland acknowledged the contribution of the PCA Staff, the Board and PCA’s Member Organisations and Affiliates.

“I wish to extend my thanks and appreciation to the entire PCA team, for their continued professionalism and dedication during my time at PCA. The success we have enjoyed over the past two years has been very dependent on the talent and enthusiasm of my staff together with an engaged and committed Board,” Mr Greenland said.

The PCA Board has appointed Ms Tamara Mckee, Business Operations Manager/Company Secretary as Acting CEO of PCA during the recruitment process.
