This submission by PCA provides input on the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency (AACQA) Standards Consultation draft Guidance - Aged Care Quality Standards. PCA highlights that end-of-life care should be core business for residential aged care providers, but the current quality of end-of-life care in residential aged care is patchy at best. PCA states that the Aged Care Quality Standards should include a section dedicated to palliative care issues, and should include grief and bereavement.
