Submission to the MBS Specialist and Consultant Physician Review - July 2019

This submission, prepared by PCA, responds to the Report from the Specialist and Consultant Physician Consultation Clinical Committee to the MBS Taskforce. This is the fourth submission PCA has made to the Taskforce, following other submissions. PCA supports the goals and objectives included in the National Palliative Care Strategy (2018), which represents the commitment of the Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments to ensuring the highest possible level of palliative care is available to all people. Within this strategy there is reference to funding mechanisms, including MBS items, to facilitate collaboration and care coordination across all settings. The submission responds to each individual recommendation made in the Report.
