30 Years of Impact: Insights to lead the future of Australian palliative care

This year, Palliative Care Australia celebrates 30 years of advocating for quality palliative care for all who need it, when and where they need it.

Over the course of 2021, we have acknowledged and celebrated the amazing dedication of all those working and volunteering in palliative care across Australia over the past 30 years. And as important as it is to mark this milestone, PCA also appreciates there is still much to be done to ensure palliative care is recognised and properly funded.

On 1 December, our next Parliamentary Friends of Palliative Care virtual event will capture the reflections and insights of former PCA Board Directors about the development of palliative care and the impact of PCA’s work over the last thirty years.

A panel session hosted by PCA CEO Camilla Rowland will feature Professor David Currow, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at University of Wollongong (UOW Health and Sustainable Futures), together with PCA Chair, Professor Meera Agar, Professor of Palliative Medicine, University of Technology Sydney – and will discuss the future of palliative care ahead of the upcoming Federal Election, with an eye to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

The event will also feature a lengthy Q&A session and we encourage you to submit your questions, have your voice heard, and contribute to the conversation. You can send your questions in the form of a video. Just record yourself on Zoom on your laptop or pc, or record a video on your phone and send it in. If you’d rather submit a written question, please also include a photograph of yourself. Either way, make sure to provide your name and title and send to by 10 November.

This event is open to everyone.

The live webcast will be available on PCA’s YouTube on Wednesday, 1 December 2021, 4:30pm AEDT. We hope you will be able to join us.
