• Psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy is an experimental treatment, which is outside of standard palliative care clinical and prescribing practices.

PCA recommends maintaining current restrictions that limit prescribing to registered psychiatrists. PCA acknowledges that the evidence for psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy is evolving, and recommends further clinical trials to build the evidence base.
