This submission by PCA to the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care, responds to the Consultation on Version 2 of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards. PCA views the proposed Standards as a step forward. PCA expects that the inclusion of more explicit actions about palliative and end-of-life care will support practice improvement in these areas. PCA provides detailed comments and suggested amendments to the Standards.
