Support at Home pricing must fully and transparently reflect the costs of providing a palliative approach to in-home aged care. Specific costs that should be considered include those associated with responsive after-hours service provision, complex clinical care, staff training and support, and clinical governance arrangements. PCA recommends IHACPA undertake a pricing study to capture the true cost of providing palliative care in the Support at Home program and prioritise cost collection and outcome evaluation in the Support at Home End of Life Pathway.
