Oceanic Palliative Care Conference
Di Darmody, on behalf of Palliative Care Australia, invites you to be a part of the 2021 Oceanic Palliative Care Conference (21OPCC)
Introduction
Every two years, Palliative Care Australia delivers the Oceanic Palliative Care Conference. This event is the pre-eminent event for all those passionate about palliative and end-of-life care. It brings together hundreds of palliative health professionals from across the globe and fosters multidisciplinary collaboration, equipping attendees with knowledge, skills and networks to continue making valuable contributions and changes to the way they approach and deliver palliative care services.
This year’s conference (21OPCC) will convene leaders, health professionals, and experts in an accessible virtual format, to advance discussion and knowledge about palliative care in Australia and surrounding Oceanic Regions. Not limited by location or capacity, 21OPCC will provide a unique virtual platform for engaging a broader international audience and presenting new research and case studies about quality palliative and end of life care.
With a diverse range of attendees from across the palliative care sector, the Oceanic Palliative Care Conference attracts prominent academic, research and policy influencers, decision-makers and leaders in the industry to shape the way we think about palliative care across our region and beyond.
Anyone who has lost a loved one, or is currently supporting someone who is dying, will know how valuable palliative care is to someone with a serious or life-limiting illness. It is critical for assisting in symptom management and improving quality of life.
We really hope you will join us this year in making 21OPCC a memorable experience for all.

21OPCC Theme
Invest Challenge Change
The theme for the 2021 Oceanic Palliative Care Conference is; Invest Challenge Change. The theme builds on a global push to ensure that we build better, more resilient health systems better able to meet critical healthcare needs in normal circumstances, and sufficiently resourced to meet needs during times of emergency and crisis. Palliative care services are under-resourced at the best of times. But the advent of COVID-19 has placed a stretched system under additional strain.
Governments need to make good on their commitment to invest more in palliative care.
We need to challenge the existing thinking that places palliative care on the periphery of health systems. And we need to drive change that helps us meet not only existing need, but the future needs of a rapidly ageing and growing population that is living with more complex and chronic illness.

Sponsorship
The palliative care sector is broader than usually perceived and being a part of the Oceanic Palliative Care Conference demonstrates your commitment to improving and strengthening the industry and its outcomes across Australia, New Zealand and the Oceanic regions.
Not limited by location or capacity, 21OPCC will provide a unique virtual platform to engage a broader national and international audience and expose your brand, products and reputation into a much wider palliative care community.
With targeted marketing opportunities, effective lead generation and real time audience insights, a virtual event can bring meaningful and authentic connections to support your brand. In the new normal, we are reimagining sponsorship offerings and sponsor relationships, and introducing content that engages attendees.
By aligning your brand with 21OPCC, you are recognising the unique relationships the palliative care industry provides and taking advantage of opportunities that offer benefits long after the event is over.
