Adelaide – Palliative Care: Research for the non-researcher
Palliative Care SA is pleased to co-host this National Palliative Care Week showcase of South Australian clinical research in palliative care.
The Palliative Care Clinical Studies Collaborative (PaCCSC) with other South Australian clinician researchers have worked together for over 10 years and have a significant body of research results that will be of interest across many care settings. South Australia is leading the way in the performance of trials research and the contribution of new evidence to underpin palliative care practice and clinical decision making, not only within Australia but internationally. The findings from a range of studies will be shared with the audience.
The work is centred on the management of patient symptoms with concentration across six key symptom nodes: pain, nausea, breathlessness, cognitive disorders, gastrointestinal problems such as bowel obstruction and constipation, and appetite/anorexia.
Target audience: Palliative Care nurses and health professionals, Residential Care health professionals, registrars, advanced practice doctors and general practitioners.
